Gilisoft Video Editor is a suite of applications aimed to edit video. Various tools are available from an initial screen, in which they are grouped according to their functions, namely: cutting video or audio, joining various clips, splitting video into several segments, controlling image properties, cropping the frame area, embedding subtitles and adding watermarks. They all support a wide range of input and output formats, so some of them can be used as video converters as well.
In order to access an application, it suffices to click on the corresponding category, except for Cutter, which includes three different applications: Easy Video/Audio Cutter, Batch Video/Audio Cutter and Advanced Video Cutter. Easy Video/Audio Cutter can help you extract a segment from a file just by dragging handlers and Batch Video/Audio Cutter does the exactly same thing on batches of files. However, Advanced Video Cutter is actually a fully-fledged video converter that allows cutting, cropping, watermarking, embedding subtitles and adding effects. In turn, the Joiner category includes Video/Audio Joiner, which lets you combine several clips together. You may find useful the feature that allows selecting a fragment from each individual file. Video/Audio Splitter, included in the Splitter category, can divide a file into various segments, so that they may fit different devices or discs. The rest of the categories, Effect, Subtitle, Cropper and Watermark, open applications with different names, but, surprisingly, they all do the same. As in the case of Advanced Video Cutter, they are in fact supporting all the above functions.
In general, Gilisoft Video Editor is an undeniably useful set of tools. However, they seem to have been artificially grouped because they lack the unity that should characterize a software suite. In relation to this, we can easily notice that some functions overlap. As a result, this suite probably needs to be re-conceptualized as a single and more coherent application. Some applications already available prove that this is not difficult to attain.
