Cropping a video is among those features, and it consists of selecting the screen region to keep. Likewise, you can split a clip using multiple criteria. Thus, besides marking customized split points, you can also divide a video into fragments or set a given number of output sections as well as the maximum file size or clip length. It also lets you join several source clips into a single output file. Fortunately, you don’t need to be an expert to apply interesting effects and transitions or to embed subtitles in your video.
The tool comes with lots of output presets, and luckily, most of them are already configured to be fully compatible with different types of devices. Moreover, if none of these presets meets your requirements, you can create the personalized ones. What I find very convenient is the possibility of keeping the original format: it saves a lot of conversion time. Luckily, the profusion of both input and output formats supported allows using the program as a converter.
This editor doesn’t allow using sophisticated features, such as timelines, storyboards, multiple tracks and layers. For this reason, you cannot use the tool to perform complex operations in a single project. Instead, you should combine the available functions, for example, you may extract segments from various clips and then merge them.
In general, while Gilisoft Video Editor is undeniably easy to use, it doesn’t offer many of the features that are available within more sophisticated programs. I advise you to consider your real needs and study the market of video editing programs.
